DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKSHOP

“Without a trace” is an artistic experiment and a process-oriented movement encounter in which dance becomes a shared somatic experience - not a performance to be watched, but an art form experienced from within. It is a space for bodies in motion, for breath, rhythm, fatigue, listening, and shared presence. The event invites you to practice dance as a form of life in transformation: movement that is not created to be seen, but to nourish the relationships between bodies and the environment.

In the logic of the contemporary art market, dance often becomes a product, a spectacle, and an object of evaluation. Here, we attempt to reverse this order. We do not create a performance for visual consumption. We do not produce an object that can be captured, documented, or sold. The work becomes the experience of the participants and what happens between them - a fleeting, shared state of presence, existing only for the duration of the encounter and only for those who co-create it.

The movement process is treated as an ephemeral somatic installation. The shared space of dance does not produce an artistic object, but leaves traces of bodily transformation: breath, warmth, sweat, microgestures, flickers of attention, fantasies, fatigue, and reflections. What remains after the event is not a thing, but an experience that can change the way we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world.

“Without a trace” proposes thinking about the future of art not through images and representations, but through relationships, processes, and movement that constantly challenges the status quo.

The event unfolds in three integral phases:

1. Somatic introduction - a gentle entry into the experience of the body, directing attention toward inner perception, listening to the space, and processing one’s presence.

2. Open space for dance and movement with music - practicing communal movement as a living process in which rhythm, gesture, and co-presence become an environment rather than a spectacle.

3. Releasing residues and fantasizing about the future of movement - a time for integration and letting go of the remnants of the experience - physiological, emotional, and imaginative - which can fuel new ways of thinking about art, community, and being together.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE LEADER

Angelika Mizińska - works at the intersection of choreography, dance, and somatic education. In her practice, she explores the relationships between the body, community, and the environment, treating movement, improvisation, and choreography as tools for understanding and coexistence. She creates processes based on mindfulness, experimentation, and process-oriented work, in which choreography becomes a relational practice - a way of listening, negotiating, and co-creating reality. Inspired by nature’s strategies, she uses movement to seek models of coexistence based on dignity, diversity, and regeneration. She works in theatrical and site-specific spaces, initiating artistic and educational projects. Her current research focuses on ecosomatics as a practice of embodied relationality. She studied in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Estonia. She is a certified Body-Mind Centering® somatic movement educator (Germany, 2024) and is continuing on the Practitioner path.
