DESCRIPTION OF THE CONCERT
Karakal's music is like the desert night, warm sand, burning incense smoke and tales shared around a fire. Karakal is an international septet, one that takes joy in the shared flow of energies and celebrates the chance to take the listeners on a magical journey. The band's soundscape is intertwined with the cultural influences of Persia, Syria, India, Berber, Anatolia and the Balkans. They lift us into psychedelic and jazz spaces, full of trance and improvisation.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARTISTS
The singer and songwriter is Ayşe Abacı, who comes from Turkey. The band's musical director Wit Gudowski brings us closer to the sound of the Middle Eastern lute: the oud. The band also features the sound of other oriental instruments such as the saz (Adam Winiarz) and the esraj (Tomasz Świstowski). The groove of the band is fueled by Ramzi Attia (darbuka), Cyryl Skiba (drums and percussion) and David Condis (bass). They break down all the barriers, uniting cultures into one amazing piece, guided by the phrase “unity through diversity”.
