INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARTIST
Papa Bo Selektah - is a well-known Belarusian DJ with extensive experience of performing in various countries (Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Belgium, Ukraine, USA, India, Sri Lanka). He is the founder of BOpromo concert agency and the Korpus Cultural Centre in Minsk, and well known cultural producer and curator with over 20 years of experience in the independent scene. Papa Bo was forced to flee Belarus after taking part in the 2020 protests with a mobile DJ set that became a cultural symbol of Belarusian resistance. This action led to criminal prosecution, months of imprisonment, and eventual exile. Now based in Poland, Papa Bo continues to develop Belarus Outside Sound System - a touring solidarity music movement that supports Belarusian artists in exile and raises awareness of the ongoing political repressions in Belarus. Today, Papa Bo is considered one of the key figures in Belarusian cultural exile. He actively supports displaced artists and helps build sustainable, transnational solidarity networks through music and community organizing.
